Doubled over with Laughter.

I am a whole introvert goof-ball. There is nothing like a good-belly laugh. Laughter is a great form of stress relief, whether you are laughing at a sitcom or joking with family and friends. Laughing isn't a cure-all, but, there are many benefits of laughing.


Laughter stimulates many organs. It increases your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins released by your brain. It fires up, cools down your stress response; decreasing your heart rate and blood pressure. And, laughter encourages circulation and aid muscle relaxation, which helps reduce some physical symptoms of stress. These are just short-term benefits of laughter.


In the long-term, laughter can improve your mood and increase personal satisfaction. Humor helps you to connect with others, and helps you to cope with difficult situations. Laughter improves your immune system by relieving pain. Negative thoughts can create chemical reactions that affects your body by bringing more stress into your system and decreasing your immunity. Positive thoughts helps to release protein fight stress.


Laughter can increase your overall sense of well-being. Doctors have found that people who have a positive outlook on life tend to fight diseases better than people who tend to be more negative.
